John Deere wins CalTrans deal

CalTrans (California's Department of Transportation) awarded John Deere a contract to supply 33 motor graders to them and retrofit them with CARB-verified emission after-treatment equipment. This John Deere system will surpass California emissions regulations. The state has always been a pioneer in clean air standards, and this John Deere deal will help California in their quest to do so.

Joe Mastanduno said that "John Deere was the only manufacturer who could provide Caltrans graders and retrofit them to the new standards on time". He is the engine product marketing manager for John Deere Construction & Forestry. "By retrofitting them with the Cleaire PM/NOx aftertreatment, these graders will emit 85% less PM into California's air."

Caltrans will use these John Deere vehicles for construction, snow removal, and shoulder maintenance. Mastanduno continued to express John Deere's commitment to reducing emissions in the atmosphere. "We're constantly on the hunt for solutions, whether it's at the job site or at the design table. Deere is also dedicated to sharing these solutions beyond state agencies to help contractors with fleets." John Deere comes through once again.
